You have launched your business, now what?

Congratulations! You have launched your own business or taken on an exciting new role. Now what?
Here are some tips that helped me when I launched my business nine years ago:
1) Don’t take on too much too soon. You’ll end up regretting it in the end and feeling overwhelmed.
2) Get to know people so you can learn from the institutional knowledge that they bring to the table.
3) Find your allies and mentors who can support you professionally and emotionally during the tough times.
4) Learn how to say “no” and determining the projects that stretch your skills and those that are not a strong fit at the onset. Setting boundaries upfront will lead to less negotiation and frustration later on.
5) Ensure you set aside time for yourself, in whatever form that might be best for you. Things like meditation, lunch breaks, or walk breaks are good breathers during the work day.
