Developing your Application

When partnering with other nonprofits, how do you determine which agency is best to lead the collaboration? You’ll need to have a frank discussion about which agency has the best management capabilities in fund tracking, program evaluation, and outcome metrics. Examine which agency is most prepared to act as fiscal agent, receiving and disbursing the funds. It needn’t be the agency that will receive the largest amount of funding and/or deliver the core services.
Depending on the type of appliation, the funder may outline additional considerations in the application instructions as to what class/category of agency can apply in the first place. The application may also include further clarifying information on the types of agencies that can subcontract, or whether they are a collaborator, partner, or in some cases direct beneficiary.
All of these considerations should be openly discussed as you are developing your application. #NonprofitPartnerships
