Social Wellness Month

July is Social Wellness Month, a time to think about what you can do to support your well-being through social connections. Whether it is breaking out of your fixed routine and vowing to meet new people, meeting someone for lunch, or setting up a Zoom call with your book club, those connections matter.
Social wellness is important because it is all about your capability to bond with others and build satisfying relationships, something all human beings need. Another important aspect of social wellness is that the more people you meet, the more likely you are to develop new hobbies and embark on journeys you never even imagined you would have. And don’t forget, social relationships have a lasting impact on physical health.
As an introvert, I know that it can feel draining to be social, but there are so many ways you can connect with people while being true to who you are, including something as simple as stopping by your local dog park and chatting with another dog owner. Now that we’re emerging from the pandemic, this July is a great time to think about how you can make space in your life for those little moments and interactions that are so important to your social wellness.
