Hiring a seasoned business expert
Nonprofit organizations are not immune to the “Great Resignation.” Many are operating at far less than full staff capacity. For many leaving the for-profit business sector, they are looking for more meaning or purpose in the work, and some are turning to nonprofit employers as a way to give back and find more fulfillment in their daily work. Nonprofits would be wise to recognize the value of these seasoned business experts. Look to hire individuals defecting from the for-profit sector who have a lifelong learner mindset, a team-first philosophy, and a spirit of adaptability. Many of the other skillsets needed for nonprofit work can be taught. These more intrinsic personality pieces are much more difficult to teach, but make all the difference in nonprofit staff members. #WednesdayWisdom
