Becky Jascoviak

Becky Jascoviak, our resident theatre expert, has worked in, started, led, and consulted for nonprofits for more than 25 years. Working in the arts, she has set up Seedlings Theatre Company and Genesius Guild, two community theatres in Northwest Indiana and the Quad Cities of Iowa, and Chautauqua in the Dunes, an arts and humanities nonprofit based on the historical Chautauqua educational model popular in the late 19th and early 20th century. She has also launched the Muscular Dystrophy-focused nonprofit Kyle’s Legacy, the business development and training nonprofit GoGreenCow, and BlessingsNWI, a nonprofit that provides goods and services for those in need in Northwest Indiana.
Working in Development, Becky has been on both the marketing and fundraising side of organizations supporting the arts, human services, job training, community development, and international issues. In her leadership roles, she has helped form and grow collaborations, develop grassroots organizations into flourishing community development drivers, and trained others to understand the important role that grants play in the fundraising landscape. The grants she has researched, written, and managed have kick-started a network of trails in her community; supported extensive curriculum development in the arts, technology, and STEM; launched large multi-agency collaborations in school-to-work transition and in regional theatre; further improved outdoor amenity accessibility; and worked to improve air and water quality alongside growing recycling and energy efficiency.
While wearing her hat as a theatre enthusiast, Becky currently serves as the President of the Northwest Indiana Excellence in Theatre Foundation, which provides marketing, fundraising, and administrative support for individual community and educational theatres in Northwest Indiana. Becky has been extensively involved in community theatre productions for 25 years, mostly in the capacity of directing, stage managing, and designing, but taking an acting role every so often as well. She met her husband while directing The Music Man, and has also directed Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Chicago Street Theatre, All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten, Freud’s Last Session, and Godspell on her own. She and her husband have co-directed productions of Treasure Island, The Secret Garden and Snapshots: A Musical Scrapbook, Moana JR, and Frozen JR.
Becky has a Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University, an MBA from Valparaiso University, a Grant Professionals Certification (GPC), and currently serves as the Chair of the Grant Professionals Foundation.
