Are You Grant Ready?
If your nonprofit doesn’t have much experience or success getting grant funding, an important thing to do is to assess whether your organization is truly “grant ready.” A nonprofit that is grant ready has the adequate management, programmatic and financial infrastructure to support program expansion or new programs if grant funding is awarded. In other words, the organizational operations related to grants need to be in order before you begin submitting grant applications.
Grant readiness also involves gathering all of your organization’s important documents that may be needed for grant applications, and if you intend on applying for federal funding, registering your organization with all the appropriate government funding portals.
Before your organization starts applying for grants, make sure you are grant ready so that you and your colleagues can be as efficient as possible on those fast-moving deadlines! #grantwriting #TuesdayTip
